Red Tail Ridge Winery

In this project, we had to do the extension of an existing winery where the owners wanted to have their own residence near their working place. This meant for the extension to include living quarters and also , in my proposal, I chose to include a reception room for the owners wine club and a tasting room on the second floor that would become a “Jewel Box” to the rest of the winery. This Jewel Box's walls were maded out of two sheets of insulated glass that would then include dryed out stems that were meant to be thrown out. These stems would be closely packed to one another only so that the room could be dark on the inside, however, at some places, the stems would not be so tightly packed in order to provide rays of light to come through the tasting room. At night, the effect would be reversed making the tasting room look like a jewel box.
